Application steps

1. Click the link above to apply. Should this link not be live, it is because we are not currently accepting applications. To be notified when we begin accepting applications, complete this form to be placed on our Youth Programs email list. When applications open in mid-December, you will receive an email with a link to the New Camper Application Form, or you can check back here.

2. The application has two parts – one for the parent/guardian to complete and one for the camper to complete. To ensure that the prospective camper is a good fit for the camp and the other campers, we ask that he or she personally completes the questions in section two. As flying is a serious (and fun) endeavor, our understanding of the youth’s interest and maturity is key.

3. After our office has reviewed all applications, we will contact a short list of applicants to schedule a phone or video call with the prospective camper and his or her parents/guardian. This call is an opportunity to make sure our camp is a good fit for the camper and to answer any questions that she or he may have.

4. Applicants will be notified of our decision. Demand for our camps is high; last year, we received 90 enquiries for 8 positions. As we cannot accommodate all that are interested, we offer flight training alternatives for your child all season - from late May until late October. Depending on your situation, interests, and what your child wants to accomplish we can set up a program outside of Camp. One option is to visit the Mad River Valley with your child, camp together on the field or stay at a local Inn or B&B. We will customize a course of instruction that will provide a great experience with high quality personalized instruction. A number of students from all over the country do this throughout the soaring season. A benefit of spending some time with us is that other young pilots who are part of our Line Crew Program are around for your child to hang out with and learn from. Please contact our office if you would like to discuss this option.

Note: You only have to go through this application process prior to your camper’s first summer. The registration for subsequent summers will only consist of completing the returning camper registration form.
